Chronogrammies are on!

Juliet Lofaro Portrait Photographer has made it to the top five of the 2024 Chronogrammies!

2024 Chronogrammies can be voted on daily through 5/15/24

I haven’t thrown my hat into the ring for the Chronogram’s annual readers’ choice awards before. Once, I was nominated in the “Wedding Photographer” category and I withdrew it. Sure, I may shoot a wedding or elopement once or twice a year. I didn’t think it would be fair or make sense to try and get votes because there are photographers out there who base their entire businesses around weddings. So this year, under “People” you can find my business under “Photographer”, because advertising and promotion is a vital part of spreading the word and connecting with people who believe in what I can provide.

I love photographing people in a way that contributes to their lives personally and professionally. We get to connect and freeze time. You can vote daily through May 15, 2024 and I’m going for it. I made it to the top five after all!!! Thanks in advance.

Juliet Lofaro Portrait Photographer new studio business spotlight in Ulster County Chamber of Commerce newsletter and the Kingston Freeman.

Just like so many of you, I needed a new portrait. I was interviewed for an article about my business! I went through the wardrobe, make up, and different set ups to land on a new picture of myself that I love. Now I am using it for my profile picture on most platforms.

The Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce invited me to be a spotlighted business in their March 2022 newsletter, which gets sent to members and published in the Kingston Freeman. It’s quite an honor and I thank the President and CEO Ward Todd, and Robert Mitchell who wrote the article which you can find here.

Back in the late ‘90’s I was working on independent films in NYC on set as a Stills Photographer. The pay was low the hours were long and the crews were amazing. Highly skilled professionals just making shit work. It was a blast. And you’ve never heard of most of the movies I was on. With non union sets, they could pull a still photographer for a day here and there with no commitment, so if someone of note was expected for a cameo, they’d need stills. This day was star studded and I knew about André as well as anyone who ever picked up a fashion magazine in the ‘80s or ‘90s. It was clear that he brought his own wardrobe, as he swept onto set wearing a white fur coat with a train. For a dinner scene.
