Back in the late ‘90’s I was working on independent films in NYC on set as a Stills Photographer. The pay was low the hours were long and the crews were amazing. Highly skilled professionals just making shit work. It was a blast. And you’ve never heard of most of the movies I was on.
With non union sets, they could pull a still photographer for a day here and there with no commitment, so if someone of note was expected for a cameo, they’d need stills.
This day was star studded and I knew about André as well as anyone who ever picked up a fashion magazine in the ‘80s or ‘90s. It was clear that he brought his own wardrobe, as he swept onto set wearing a white fur coat with a train. For a dinner scene.
